We are inviting you to be a part of the exciting kickoff of this year’s Holiday Campaign to Buy Local. Help spread the word: keep your neighborhoods thriving and vital, save gas, help create jobs, make new friends and boost your local tax base.


What: Media Kickoff

Why: If we can convince every household inChicago to shift $100 of their holiday spending to locally-owned neighborhood businesses, it would inject $25 million intoChicago’s economy.

Who: Join City Treasurer Stephanie Neely, Suzanne Keers of Local First Chicago, 5th Ward Ald. Leslie Hairston, 48th Ward Ald. Harry Osterman, 4th Ward Ald. Will Burns, and Omar Duque of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.


The 2012 campaign includes partners from throughout the city, including the Office of the City Treasurer, Choose Chicago, and partners from 30 neighborhoods.
