THIS is a fascinating article published at Ragan Communications’ website. The debate over what industry standards need to be placed around social media have raged since social media burst onto the scene as a viable part of a communications/PR/marketing program.
The author of the article almost seems to imply that the matter is settled. That these proposed standards by experts in the field of PR have cemented these standards in stone.
Not so sure that is the case, however. We feel that it may be more likely that the standards placed around social media and its uses will continually evolve over the years, just like social media has. What do you think?
