Do you remember where you were on March 19, 2003? Kate does because she was at the White House accepting the “Woman Owned Business Star” award from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council and it was the day that the U.S. attacked Iraq. While it was an honor to be at the event, it was a little nerve wracking to be in a prime target should there be an immediate retaliation. Luckily both the building and Kate emerged unscathed.
The role of truck dispatcher was Kate’s early career choice when, at the age of four, she would shout truck orders up and down the laundry chute in her childhood home. Her mother recommended nursing as a solid career, but Kate faints at the sight of blood, so she chose the only slightly less gory theatrical field. After getting her BS is acting and directing at CUNY, she stayed and worked as an actress in New York until moving to California to join United Airlines and travel the world.
Kate has visited six continents including humanitarian missions to Cuba and travel to Kenya for the U.S. State Department to teach business to entrepreneurs. She has lectured nationwide and as a recovering thespian, particularly enjoys giving presentations that help people laugh and learn in equal measures.
