MIAMI, May 29, 2012 – Amadeus, a leading travel technology partner and transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry, announced today that Atlas Travel, a 26-year-old global travel management company serving more than 500 corporations worldwide and 15,000 vacation travelers, is the first to select the full suite of Amadeus One technology solutions to deliver greater control of the entire travel experience for travelers and travel managers alike.
“Business travel is constantly changing so agencies need to be able to adapt at a fast pace and prepare for the future or risk their business. With the full Amadeus One suite, Atlas will be able to take optimal advantage of the unique capabilities and benefits of our flexible, scalable technology solutions,” said Vic Pynn, Executive Vice President for Amadeus in the Americas region. “Unlike legacy platforms, Amadeus One will help Atlas achieve their business and customer objectives including enabling them to pursue continuous evolution, connectivity options, and emerging channel opportunities.”
Amadeus One is a suite of innovative IT solutions and services designed to help business travel agencies enhance productivity, streamline operations, and optimize procurement at the point of sale. Its intuitive, easy-to-use functionality also helps agencies reduce or eliminate training and bring aboard future generations of travel agents. Under the new partnership, Atlas Travel will utilize the:
- Amadeus One Desktop – an integrated, configurable, Web-based, multi-source professional agent point-of-sale solution
- Amadeus One Travel Portal – a single point of entry with a customized user interface which allows agencies to provide their corporate customers with access to dynamic content and travel tools
- Amadeus One Open Profile Suite (OPS) – a customized profile management solution based on a centralized profile repository that synchronizes with agency, ERP, GDS, and online booking systems, as well as Amadeus’ portfolio of modular components to ensure profile data consistency and enhanced reporting
- Amadeus e-Travel Management – the flagship employee self-booking tool for corporations
Atlas Travel’s phased rollout of the Amadeus One suite is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
Pynn said the Amadeus One suite delivers a comprehensive point-of-sale offering that will enable Atlas to add new levels of automation throughout the trip lifecycle. This will facilitate increasing agency productivity and accuracy while enabling the agency to offer additional choices and services to their travel agents as well as their travelers.
Elaine Osgood, President of Atlas Travel, said the Amadeus One next generation technology platform will be a key element in the agency’s overall technology portfolio focused on products and services that allows Atlas the ability to customize and enhance the client experience.
“There is optimal value to utilize and integrate several Amadeus One technology solutions that will truly enable us to deliver what our customers need and to also grow and expand our business,” said Osgood.
In 2011, Atlas increased their overall revenues by 15% and plans to expand into new geographic areas. An affiliate of BCD Travel, Atlas is an Inc. 5000 company and was recently named by the Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO) as one of the Top 50 fastest-growing women-led businesses in the U.S.
