Orlando, FL – November 28, 2011 – For Michael Schad, President of Seaward Travels, the choice to work with a local affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and to help fund the research that will find a cure for breast cancer, was very personal. His aunt, Sharon Layne, was diagnosed with the disease in 1999 and passed away in 2007.
“The work at organizations like Susan G. Komen for the Cure provided hope to my aunt,” said Mr. Schad. “It gave her information about new treatments and helped her think that maybe she could get another year and then another year and kept her going. I know that hope benefits others currently living with the disease as well. That’s why creating the Cruise2Cure was so important, because it was so personal for me.”
The Cruise2Cure is a three-night Royal Caribbean Cruise to the Bahamas, departing Port Canaveral aboard the Monarch of the Seas on October 19th, 2012. All of the proceeds from this cruise will be going to the Central Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The pricing on the cruise is as follows:
- Inside cabin: $239 per person
- Ocean view cabin: $269 per person
- $50 onboard credit is included
- Government taxes of $62.45 per person are additional
Prices are based on double occupancy, and a $25 deposit is due by December 30, 2011 to hold a space.
