Travelex’s Christopher Russell to Speak at the 2nd Annual Prepaid Card Conference: Presentation will Focus on Meeting Business and Consumer Travel Money Needs Particularly During Current Economic Concerns

Louisville, KY – [June 22, 2009] – Travelex has announced that Executive Vice President of Outsourcing, Americas, Christopher Russell, will be a featured speaker at this year’s 2nd Annual Prepaid Card Conference.  The conference is being held at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center from June 24th through the 26th.  Mr. Russell will be speaking on Friday, June 29 at 9:45 A.M.

“This is a great opportunity for Travelex to show how we are leading the way in the move towards prepaid cards which as become more prominent during the current economic crisis,” said Mr. Russell.  “Prepaid cards allow travelers the ease of locking in foreign exchange rates, to better manage travel expenses, to top off their cards while traveling and give them access to global assistance while traveling worldwide.  This is the perfect forum to discuss these benefits and learn about the future of the industry.”

Mr. Russell’s presentation is entitled “Stabilizing Global Travel Cost under Economic Turbulence with Prepaid Travel Cards.  The seminar will focus on examining the costs and risks arising from global currency fluctuation, analyzing cost savings from using the prepaid currency card, developing multiple channels and forging partnerships to reach bigger markets and exploring more functionalities with the travel card.

 

The theme for this year’s conference is “Discovering New Opportunities in the Prepaid Market Arising from the Credit Meltdown.”  With prepaid cards expected to top $236 billion by the end of 2009, the conference is designed for leaders and innovators to present solutions particularly relevant during these economic times.  The 2nd Annual Prepaid Cards Conference is being organized by International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) and is designed for companies to determine best practices, review case-studies and share industry information among those within the prepaid card industry.
