Schaumburg, IL – [March 19, 2008]: There’s no way around it – Chicago loves food. And with so many tantalizing restaurants in town, it’s hard not to. With this in mind, the Woodfield Chicago Northwest Convention Bureau is proud to announce its 15th Annual Chef’s Fest which will happen on Tuesday, April 22nd at Arlington Park, Euclid Avenue and Route 53, from 5-8PM.
This public event is a showcase for restaurants, hotels and bureau members in the northwest Chicago suburban areas, featuring food and events from a number of local restaurants. Chef’s Fest will also feature guest cooking demonstrations from the popular chefs Rick Tramanto and Joshua Humphrey. Featured exhibitors include:

In addition to samplings from more than 50 local culinary and libation exhibitors, attendees can also enjoy cooking and wine demonstrations. Chefs’ Fest has even won the award for Illinois’ Best Restaurant Promotion seven times at the Governor’s Tourism Conference.
Featured chef Rick Tramanto is one of Food & Wine’s Top Ten Best New Chefs and the 2002 Best Chef: Midwest Region by The James Beard Foundation. Tramanto has garnered international attention and a host of prestigious awards for his work at Trio, Brasserie T and his renowned four-star, Relais-Gourmand restaurant Tru in Chicago, which won The James Beard Foundation 2007 Outstanding Service Award. Tramanto also has a history of television work, including “Oprah,” “Today,” “CBS This Morning” and the Food Network.
Joshua Humphrey is the executive chef for Sam & Harry’s in Schaumburg, IL, which was recently listed as one of Chicago Magazine’s Best New Restaurants. In addition, the Chefs in America organization named Humphrey to its roster of top 20 new chefs in Chicago. Chef Humphrey’s career has taken him across the country to several excellent establishments including the Renaissance Dallas Hotel where he was the chef for the hotel’s specialty restaurant.
