Working Mother Magazine Honors Atlas Travel International: Adds to Awards List that Includes 2006 Worcester Business Leader and Babson College’s Leading Women-Run Businesses

March 25, 2006: Milford, Massachusetts –Working Mother magazine has chosen Atlas Travel International as one of the nation’s 25 Best Small Companies for which to work.  They are the only travel industry business on the list and one of two Massachusetts companies so recognized.  This award distinguishes Atlas as a company “with family-friendly benefits and a culture that helps employees balance their work and family needs.”

Atlas scored in the top 25 by excelling in the three areas that served as a criterion: work/life benefits, entrepreneurial spirit and programs to help women advance.  Working Mother has defined a small company as having between five and 100 employees, and they chose their top 25 from an extensive list of nearly 250 nominations.  In addition to Atlas being honored, the article notes that Elaine Osgood, president and CEO of Atlas, is an entrepreneurial mom herself.

“Along with the desire for Atlas to be successful, my goal has always been to provide a work environment for people to experience success,” explained Osgood.  “Success in business is always tied to the people who work with you to achieve your goals, so meeting their needs and giving them an opportunity to perform to their highest potential is essential..  Atlas is honored to be recognized as a company that truly cares for the well-being of its employees.”

This award is the latest in a string of recognitions that Atlas has taken part in within the last several months.  In January, the Worcester Business Journal named Osgood one of the three 2006 Business Leaders of the Year, based on her determination and ability to successfully create and lead a company that she grew from the ground up.  Especially acknowledged was her inclination to share Atlas’ success with those around her, namely her employees and the community, through everything from perks to public events.

Atlas was also honored in December 2005 by the Center for Women’s Leadership at Babson College as one of the largest women-owned businesses in Massachusetts, an honor that Atlas has received every year that the award has been given since the study began.

Atlas Grows 63.1% in 2005

Atlas’ skyrocketing growth pattern has continued through their 4th quarter of 2005 as they added a long list of new accounts that include Nuance, Open Pages, BTU Ventures and Indevus Pharmaceuticals.  In addition, their overall growth in transactions 2005 over 2004 totaled to an impressive 63.1%.
